Data Protection
The Data Protection Act (2018) controls how your personal information is used by organisations, businesses or the government. The Data Protection Act 2018 is the UK’s implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applies to anyone who handles or has access to information concerning individuals. Everyone in the school has a legal duty to protect the privacy of information relating to individuals and everyone responsible for using personal data has to follow strict rules called ‘data protection principles’.
Please see below for links to the following:
- The school's Data Protection Policy.
- The school's Privacy Notice
- Under the Data Protection Act 2018, you also have the right to find out what information the government and other organisations store about you. Please go to ICO Freedom of Information - Guide to Information.
For further information, Kent County Council have made available a document that gives guidance on data protection and the fair processing of pupil data. Please see the attached link to KCC Data Protection guidance: If you need more information about how our local authority and/or DfE collect and use your information, please visit our local authority at www.kent.gov.uk or the DfE website at https://www.gov.uk/data-protection-how-we-collect-...
Transferring pupil data
When a pupil leaves Claremont and transfers to a new school, whether as an In Year or secondary transfer, their electronic records will be sent via a secure method online and paper records will be hand-delivered and signed for by the receiving school.
