School Improvement Plan

The School Improvement Cycle

The school improvement cycle enables staff, parents and governors to have the long-term strategic overview of the intended development of the school for the current academic year.

All aspects of the school are reviewed thoroughly to ensure the best possible outcomes for every pupil, including those with SEND and our most vulnerable learners. Internal and external performance data is carefully analysed alongside rigorous self-evaluation and monitoring activities. This evidence-informed approach enables leaders to identify the key priorities and drivers for improvement, ensuring that resources and actions are focused on the areas of greatest need. Crucially, all staff are involved in the development, implementation and review of the plan, ensuring a shared understanding of priorities and maximising the impact of improvement strategies across the school community.

The following key drivers have been identified through this process. They are non-hierarchical, with each area contributing equally to our ongoing improvement journey:

  1. Whole School Aim: to sustain and improve pupil outcome in all curriculum areas
  2. Whole School Curriculum Development: Writing: Continue to embed creative and engaging opportunities for stronger writing outcomes for all including phonics/ spellings with a focus on vulnerable groups.
  3. Culture: Continue to implement the Rights Respecting framework to secure an improved whole school culture of respect for all- with a focus for EY,Yr1, Yr2
  4. EYFS: Nurturing Language and Literacy in Reception to enable pupils to communicate and support independence and self- regulation.

Together, these priorities underpin our commitment to continuous improvement and our vision of enabling every child to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Financial Benchmarking

Our strategic plan revolves around the best outcomes for our pupils. Of course, there are financial implications attached to that and as part of best practice, schools are required to benchmark financially against other schools in order to ensure that the most effective use of money is taking place. Claremont Primary School currently employs no staff over £100,000.00. Please see here https://financial-benchmarking-and-insights-tool.education.gov.uk/school/118456 for details.
